In 1992, the International Nutrition Research Center, a leading U.S.A. research institute, leader in the field of human nutrition, led by Prof. Dr. Maurizio Lucà-Moretti, published four comparative, double-blind, triple, and quintuple-crossover clinical Net Nitrogen Utilization (NNU) studies conducted in human subjects, while ingesting SON Formula® (map master amino acid pattern®), as a total substitute for dietary proteins1-4.

The scientific evidence obtained from the previously described clinical studies1-4 has shown and confirmed the discovery of SON Formula® (map master amino acid pattern®), considered one of the most important nutritional scientific breakthroughs of the 20th century.

Since 1992, have been published forty-five clinical studies conducted in human subjects1-45 while ingesting SON Formula® as a partial or total substitute for dietary protein.

Considering the scientific evidence previously described, it can be concluded that this is the highest number of scientific publications of clinical studies conducted in human subjects1-45 ever published for any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

In recognition to the originality of SON Formula® (map master amino acid pattern®) and its unprecedented nutritional effectiveness, numerous patents have been granted by the following 30 nations: United States of America, Canada, Japan, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Considering the scientific evidence previously described, it can be concluded that the discovery of SON Formula® (map master amino acid pattern®) has been granted with the highest number of patents from the highest number of nations, in recognition of its originality and unprecedented nutritional effectiveness, in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

SON Formula® Uniqueness

The scientific evidence obtained from forty-five published comparative clinical studies, conducted in human subjects1-45 has shown and confirmed that the use of SON Formula® (map master amino acid pattern®), based on its six unique characteristics*, is indicated as a medical food, under medical supervision, as a partial and/or total substitute for dietary proteins as:

  • the most nutritious and the most health-preserving

in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

The Six Unique Characteristics of SON Formula®

1. SON Formula® provides a unique, unprecedented, constant Body Protein Synthesis (BPS = 99% NNU/23 min), namely the highest in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

Comparative clinical Net Nitrogen Utilization (NNU) studies conducted in human subjects1-4 have shown and confirmed that the use of SON Formula® provides an unprecedented, unique, constant BPS = 99% NNU/23 min*. On the contrary, dietary proteins provide a variable BPS of 16-32% NNU/180-360 min. That is, a BPS 24 to 96 times lower compared to that of SON Formula®. As a result, it can be concluded that SON Formula® provides a BPS that is 24 to 96 times higher in comparison to that provided by any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

Bar graph comparing BPS of SON Formula and dietary proteins/protein supplements.

*To illustrate: the Body Protein Synthesis (BPS = %NNU/min), is the scientific index that defines a specific dietary protein nutritional value. Therefore, the higher a dietary protein BPS, the higher its nutritional value, and vice versa.

Considering the scientific evidence1-4 previously described, it can be concluded that SON Formula® is the most nutritious and the most health-preserving in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

2. SON Formula® requires less than 23 minutes to be digested. That is, the shortest digestion time ever required in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

Comparative clinical studies conducted in human subjects1-4 have shown that SON Formula® requires less than 23 minutes to be digested. On the contrary, dietary proteins require a digestion time of 180 to 360 minutes (3 to 6 hours). That is, a digestion time 6 to 12 times longer in comparison to SON Formula®. As a result, it can be concluded that SON Formula® requires a digestion time 6 to 12 times shorter in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

Considering the scientific evidence1-4 previously described, it can be concluded and confirmed that the use of SON Formula® is the most nutritious and the most health-preserving in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

3. The use of SON Formula® releases only 1% nitrogen catabolites, namely, metabolic toxic waste. That is, the lowest amount of nitrogen catabolites ever released, in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

Comparative clinical studies conducted in human subjects1-4 have shown that the use of SON Formula® releases only 1% nitrogen catabolites. In contrast, dietary proteins, during digestion, release 68 to 84% nitrogen catabolites. That is, 67 to 83 times more metabolic toxic waste, to be catabolized through the hepatic and renal function. As a result, it can be concluded that the use of SON Formula® releases 67 to 83 times less nitrogen catabolites, meaning metabolic toxic waste, in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

Considering the scientific evidence1-4 previously described, it can be concluded and confirmed that the use of SON Formula® is the safest and therefore the most health-preserving in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

4. The use of SON Formula® provides only 0.04 kcal/g. That is, the lowest amount of kcal/g ever provided in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

Comparative clinical studies conducted in human subjects1-4 have shown that the use of SON Formula® provides only 0.04 kcal/g. In contrast, dietary proteins provide 4 kcal/g. That is, 99 times more kilocalories per gram in comparison to SON Formula®. As a result, it can be concluded that SON Formula® provides 99 times fewer kilocalories per gram in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

Considering the scientific evidence1-4 previously described, it can be concluded and confirmed that the use of SON Formula® is the safest and therefore the most health-preserving in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

5. SON Formula®, in contrast to any dietary protein or protein supplement, contains no protein, lipid, carbohydrate, vitamin, mineral, trace element, or excipient.

SON Formula® contains only the active ingredient MAP Master Amino Acid Pattern®, and it does not provide any inactive ingredient or excipient. As a result, the use of SON Formula® in substitution for dietary proteins allows for an easier and more efficient clinical nutrition management by limiting the intake of any unwanted macronutrient and/or micronutrient.

Considering the scientific evidence1-4 previously described, it can be concluded and confirmed that the use of SON Formula® allows for an easier, safer, and more efficient clinical nutrition management, to prevent or limit the intake of any non-required macronutrient or micronutrient.

6. The sixth and last unique characteristic of SON Formula® originates from the cumulative effects of its previously described five unique characteristics. Therefore, the use of SON Formula®, in substitution for dietary proteins, protein supplements, or amino acid formulas, can significantly reduce renal, hepatic, pancreatic, digestive, cardiovascular, and/or respiratory load, in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

CONCLUSIONS

The scientific evidence obtained from the publication of forty-five comparative clinical studies, conducted in human subjects, while ingesting SON Formula®, as a partial or total substitute for dietary proteins, has shown and confirmed that the use of SON Formula® is:

  • the most nutritious and the most health-preserving

in comparison to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula.

SON Formula® Mode of Action (MoA)

Based on the previously described scientific evidence1-45, the use of SON Formula® (map master amino acid pattern®) due to its six unique characteristics, is indicated, as medical food, under medical supervision, as a partial and/or total substitute for dietary proteins, as the most nutritious and the most health-preserving, compared to any dietary protein, protein supplement, or amino acid formula:

  1. To prevent a Negative Body's Nitrogen Balance.
  2. To achieve and/or maintain a Body's Nitrogen Balance in Equilibrium.

Posology and Method of Administration (under medical supervision)

SON Formula® recommended dosage: to be determined by a physician.

Comparative clinical studies conducted in healthy human subjects1-4 have shown that a daily dosage of 200 mg of SON Formula® per lb of body’s ideal weight is adequate, as a total substitute for dietary proteins, to maintain the Body’s Nitrogen Balance in Equilibrium.

For example, to calculate the dosage of SON Formula® necessary to substitute 10 g of high biological value dietary proteins, proceed as follows:

1. SON Formula® dosage = (dietary proteins x 0.4) g

2. SON Formula® dosage = (10 x 0.4) g

3. SON Formula® dosage = 4 g

Therefore, 4 tablets (4 g) of SON Formula® provide a Body’s Protein Synthesis (BPS) equivalent to at least that provided by 10 g of dietary proteins with the highest biological value.
